Mitsubishi Chemical America, Inc. SoarnoL division is located in La Porte, Texas, and specializes in SoarnoL Ethylene Vinyl Alcohol Copolymer (EVOH). Additional manufacturing facilities for SoarnoL are located in Japan and the United Kingdom.

Noltex was formed in June of 1994 and purchased an idled Du Pont EVOH manufacturing facility in La Porte. Noltex began production of SoarnoL resin in early 1996 after retrofitting the first of our plant’s production lines.

Our plant primarily serves the needs of the North and South American markets, and supplements product needs in Oceania, Asia, and Europe. With a total annual production capacity of 38,000 metric tons, our EVOH product line includes a wide variety of specialty SoarnoL grades in order to better meet the increased demand for this unique gas barrier resin.

Job Purpose

The primary responsibilities of this position are to record, analyze and report financial transactions to maintain records of the company’s financial position and results of operations in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), with a focus towards the internal control environment.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Reviews and analyzes bank activity, foreign currency, and financials details to resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and analyze financial data for internal and external auditors, parent companies and tax preparers.
  • Prepare Monthly Sales Tax Accrual, Entry and Return.
  • Issue AR invoices for items such as: Used Box Sales, Corridor Agreement, Soarus Freight rebills, and Sample Rebills. 
  • Perform month end closing activities.
  • Reconciles and balances GL accounts. 
  • Post Incoming Soarus Payments and Apply payments to the AR invoices.
  • Reviews and resolves accounting discrepancies in reported data. 
  • Enter budget into SAP, update SAP parameters, perform SAP system modifications.
  • Coordinate annual sales tax audit.  Analyze and review issues with the audit as they arise. 
  • Manage purchasing card system, including month end entries and analysis.
  • Cash Flow Forecast.
  • Expense Report coding, auditing, ensure compliance with policies.
  • Annual analysis and Reporting for 1099’s.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in accounting preferred; Associate’s degree with emphasis in accounting required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in related accounting field required; experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment is preferred. 
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP) as well as international financial reporting standards (IFRS) preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Macros and Microsoft Word.
  • Prior SAP experience (FI, CO, SD, MM, AA) preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills using the English language in both verbal and written forms is required.
  • A high degree of competence with the ability to work accurately, attention to detail and the ability and flexibility to manage multiple projects while maintaining professionalism.
Pay Transparency (complete highlighted sections)
  • The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $72,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
