Job Purpose

The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for reviewing purchase orders, monitoring deliveries, generating reports, and maintaining a good relationship with internal customers and suppliers. 

Principal Accountabilities
  • Confirm Purchase Orders
  • Review unconfirmed orders and follow up weekly with suppliers
  • Review open orders report weekly follow up on past dues/update SAP
  • Record delivery/quality/paperwork issues in supplier rating database daily
  • Follow up on daily issues (late deliveries, COA approvals, paperwork issues, etc)
  • Update SAP info records for RM pricing changes monthly
  • Plan raw materials and packaging for offsite production and execute
  • Maintain Purchasing department email address and respond to issues
  • Update railcar RM shipments daily in SAP and spreadsheet
  • Entering of stock transfers within SAP
  • Track Rail cars and urgent shipments
  • Responsible for aged inventory distribution and downgrading
  • Participate in internal cross functional and supplier meetings
  • Support Purchasing Manager with additional duties
  • Maintain a helpful and friendly working relationship with fellow employees
  • Comply with all applicable customer, safety, ISO/IATF 16949 QMS, and ISO14001 EMS requirements
  • Perform any other duties as assigned
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
  • Education: Preferred: College Degree (Offset: High School Diploma w/ 5+ years of experience)
  • Experience:
    • 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
    • 1-3 years’ experience working in purchasing support
  • Familiar with an ERP system, preferably SAP
  • Strong Organizational, Verbal and Written skills
  • Experience with MS Office Suite. Strong Excel skills
  • Ability to self-manage deadlines and have strong sense of urgency
