The SRW Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, and those preparing items for shipment.
The Supervisor also studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
This position works closely with Production, Customer Service, and Quality Assurance to meet customer priorities.
- Keeps work area clean
- Adheres to safety and environmental rules
- Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments
- Determines space requirements and position of shipment in trucks and lays out position of shipment
- Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications
- Seals loaded truck doors
- Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas
- Prepares bills of lading
- May assist workers in shipping and receiving activities
- Trains operators
- Maintains training records
- Writes SRW departmental procedures
- Maintains maintenance and inspection of all SRW equipment (saws, guns, and forklifts) to ensure that it is current and safe
- Orders and maintains all SRW packaging supplies
- Forklift license may be required for position and will be issued by Mitsubishi
- Other duties as assigned department manager
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two to five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehousing environment
- Basic math skills and effective use of the metric system
- Strong knowledge of Receiving, Warehouse, and Material Handling operations, methods, and practices
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Quality conscious and organized
- Self-motivated
- Able to work alone or in a team setting
- Must possess the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
- Microsoft Office and SAP
- Ability to develop personnel and equipment structures to support present and future operations
- The salary range for this position is $62,400 - $93,600. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
