Job Purpose

Lead & manage the activities of multiple site operations creating both a safe working atmosphere and efficient operational facilities, maximizing profits while consistently manufacturing quality product.  Responsible for EH&S (Environmental, Health and Safety), quality, costs, methods, operations, and strategic planning. 

Principal Accountabilities
  • Lead EH&S efforts by creating a culture where employee safety and health comes first and environmental impacts are reduced. Work together with management team and safety personnel to drive improvements and ensure a complete and comprehensive written Safety Plan is in place, consistent across each site.
    • Ensure sites are always compliant with OSHA, EPA, DEP, Local, State and Federal law, and reporting is accurate and timely
  • Lead quality management efforts by creating the correct working environment and supporting the management teams in the areas of Quality Management understanding and comprehension. Assure that established standards of quality, accuracy and performance are maintained, directing corrective measures when necessary and always looking to improve quality levels.
  • Oversee the management teams in plant/manufacturing projects to improve efficiency and accuracy of manufacturing processes.
    • Responsible for capacity planning along with Demand Planner
  • Lead and work on technical projects to drive efficiency, quality, and productivity improvement to consistently reduce waste and cost at each site or analyze other sites within MCG for improvements respective to production and through put
  • Establish and maintain all performance measures for all manufacturing operations that fall under responsibilities.
  • Budget & manage manufacturing cost structures by developing and maintaining operation expenses within budget allowance and introduce cost reduction measures at the respective sites. Drive and lead continuous manufacturing improvements at all MCG sites requested to analyze and recommend next steps
  • Work with management teams and Product Line Managers (PLM) to implement capital budget planning. Lead and direct plant engineering strategies and capacity analytics that impact sites of responsibility.
    • Equipment will meet all customer/user requirements, functional specifications, and design specifications.
  • Guide manufacturing staffing levels at responsible sites including both salaried and hourly. Maintain good site relations and help sites enforce company policy and guide team to handle employee concerns. Work with respective site management teams to develop on-going training programs.  Lead employee development activities to build bench strength across the operations.
  • Help coordinate with BLM and Sales & Marketing all activities which result in improved EBITDA. Activities include  Margin Improvement Teams, new product development and introduction, product line rationalization, facility expansion, logistics strategy, capacity expansion, and automation.
    • Develop strategic plan for the sites which includes capacity, cost, and customer centric focus.
  • Financially responsible for the sites with the freedom to act after analyzing impact scenarios. Use practical and technical experience for problem solving to conclusion best suited for the facilities.
  • Work closely with Finance, HR, Quality, Safety, Engineering, Planning, IT and Procurement as Matrix Management responsibility
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, Finance, Accounting, Mechanical Engineering Required
  • Master’s degree is preferable
  • 10-15 years plant operations or engineering experience preferred with at least 8 years manufacturing management experience; Strong knowledge of equipment functions, troubleshooting production (cycle time) and materials; ability to lead and direct large capital projects for the plant.
  • Proven supervisory skills and demonstrated leadership skills; Financial analytical skills (to include forecasting and budgeting); Sound background in Quality Management techniques; Proven negotiation skills; Plastics Industry knowledge preferred.

  • The salary range for this position is starting at $128,600. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
