Job Purpose

Develops and commercializes new bead resin products under the direction of the Manager – Research & Development (BR) and supports Marketing and Production departmental needs for technical solutions involving both new and existing bead resin products. 

Principal Accountabilities
  • Promote new bead resin products and new application in cooperation with Marketing and Production departments.
  • Provide technical services to customers and distributors.
  • Serves as primary technical liaison with MCC Technical Department to develop, maintain and share data, information and knowledge concerning commercial bead resin production and R&D developments.
  • Create presentations and Technical Data Sheets on new products and/or new applications.
  • Visit customers to establish and maintain good relationships and assist in efforts to determine contributing factors related to technical problems.
  • Create operational recipes for new products and optimization revisions of existing products.
  • Provide process and product troubleshooting and optimization assistance to the Production and Maintenance departments.
  • Liaison with toll manufacturers, including recipe creation, optimization, troubleshooting and maintaining open lines of communications.
  • Stay abreast of acrylic resin industry trends and technical developments through active participation in various technical meetings, networks, and reading of technical periodicals.
  • Act as a special project leader as assigned, and tutors others in developing technical skills and abilities.
  • Document all work efforts for internal and patent purposes and ensures proper retention of documentation for future reference.
  • The employee is responsible for conducting their activities in adherence to the Company’s Safety, Internal Control, and Quality Management Systems and in compliance with all MCA corporate policies & procedure.
  • The job holder is required to effectively organize and prioritize work activities so that technical and project objectives are achieved through personal contribution and the supporting work of others. It requires the ability to self-motivate and appropriately motivate others.
  • The job holder is required to resolve day to day issues associated with the company’s technical needs and regulatory compliance.
  • Achieves increasing reliability and efficiency of the manufacturing assets through on-going development of technical know-how and transferring its application to commercial production.
  • Ability to understand and meet regulatory guidelines and to prepare related documentation.
  • The job holder plays a key role in S&OP planning and development of new commercial segments and applications based on product technical improvements.
  • Strong leadership and management of technical and professional skills.
  • Interpersonal effectiveness that builds collaborative relationships that embody a culture of trust and respect with others through team building, training, and ensuring standards are met.
  • Tenacity to continue searching for technical solutions to eliminate barriers and obstacles to commercialization of new bead resin products and efficiency gains for existing products.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills that logically breaks down problems into their essential elements and developing solutions to meet specifications, and communicate those solutions to customers, employees, and management.
  • Results orientation that is driven and focuses on key objectives, safety of employees, repeatable outcomes, technical solutions, resource management and the overall bottom-line. Provides awareness of product technical aspects and their relationship to business and production targets with the objective of satisfying customer needs.  
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
  • Minimum Masters’ degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering with 15+ years of experience in acrylic resins or polymer manufacturing., Required
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills to communicate with business and technical leaders, customers and other Management Team Members.
  • Excellent technical and problem analysis skills are required.
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot chemical process operational problems to achieve a sound technical solution.
  • Highly motivated team player able to work at a fast pace.
