OEM Account Manager -Golf Division (0790)

Job Purpose

Responsible for the Major Account sales, promotion, and account support for assigned accounts of Mitsubishi Chemical & Aldila golf shafts. Also responsible for creating sales strategies to meet or exceed forecasted sales targets for all assigned accounts.

Principal Accountabilities

Main Responsibilities [approximate % of time per week]:

  1. Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to grow OEM sales within framework of global brand strategy for assigned accounts. (60% of time)
    1. Major Accounts - Proactively seek out new projects with primary OEM Accounts within the framework of our global brand strategy. Focus primarily on growing OEM relationships, working with key contacts and managing top tiered OEM customers.
    2. Project Management & Product Commercialization – Proactively manage Commercialization efforts with cross-functional global team for all assigned customers
  2. Marketing Promotions & Responsibilities. (20% of time)
    1. Develop and Implement  marketing strategy to promote Mitsubishi Chemical and Aldila brands to assigned OEM Accounts
    2. Work with Corporate office in Japan to synchronize and implement global strategy and efforts.
  3. General Management Responsibilities (20% of time)
  4. Participate in regular management meeting with Mitsubishi Chemical America, Inc. Sporting Goods Division management team (Carlsbad) and Mitsubishi Chemical management team (Japan) related to Sales, Marketing, and Product Development.


  1. OEM Primary Responsibilities:
    •  Assist in communication of structure / cosmetic development between OEM and Mitsubishi Chemical (MCC) R&D
    • Oversee and manage cross-functional team for all active programs from time of project award to OEM Launch of product including MCC Shafts
    • Participate in the develop of sales plans and sales strategies by account to achieve sales & revenue targets for Carlsbad, CA office, to gain new projects and programs that will help us hit our yearly number for all accounts. (not just assigned)
  2. Marketing Responsibilities
    • Explore and experiment with new ways of marketing more effectively, by leveraging existing content and exploring new types of ways to reach customers and consumers.
    • Assist in development of website content and messaging for all brands and Mitsubishi Chemical America Inc. Sporting Goods Division.
  3. General Management Responsibilities
    • Assist in delegating authority and responsibility with accountability, and follow up from other team members
    • Proactively initiate projects to improve the organization’s processes
    • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
  • Golf or Sports Industry experience is preferred.

Key Deliverables:

  • Work to meet or exceed OEM Sales Revenue for Office
  • Coordinate execution and delivery of OEM sales plans for assigned accounts and work to grow revenue over prior year for all customers.
  • Assist with the development and documentation of Mitsubishi Chemical America, Inc. Sporting Goods Division's sales strategy Produce timely and accurate Month End reporting for office and department related to OEM Sales
  • Travel domestic and international for accounts and sales training
