In this role, you will work with business partners at the subsidiaries of Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Group Corporation in the Americas and Japan. What You Will Do...

  • Working closely with staff attorneys, the transactions paralegal will support drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and executing a wide variety of commercial contracts.
  • Manages intake of request for legal assistance, including assignment of projects to appropriate staff/counsel. Coordinates projects with assigned outside counsel.
  • Serves as triage and gate-keeper for the contract management program including the implementation/enforcement of policies.
  • Support creation of playbooks, standard operating procedures, templates, and systems for managing contracts.
  • Manage certain software interfaces for legal team, including contract management and third party / restricted party screening.
  • Support extraordinary transactions and manage due diligence processes with respect to mergers and acquisitions, and real estate transactions.
  • Perform legal research as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Have...

  • Certification or associate’s degree in paralegal studies
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in a paralegal role
  • Investigative mind and strong research skills
  • Working knowledge legal database software
  • Experience in preparing legal reports
  • Good organizational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to work directly with clients and lawyers under minimum supervision.  
  • Previous transactional paralegal experience a plus.
  • Japanese language and cultural experience also a plus.

The salary range for this position is $62,400 - $93,600. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
