Job Purpose

The Process Engineer is responsible for improving the manufacturing processes. They will be directly involved in troubleshooting and resolving production operation problems, analyzing equipment failures, developing & maintaining standard operating procedures, specification, and work instructions. They will assist in designing, constructing, installing, and commissioning new equipment.

This is a full-time position, requires an average of 40 hours per week.

The facility is 24/7, occasional morning, evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

A fully qualified individual must have the ability to conduct all job functions in English; read and comprehend correspondences, memos, and routine reports; interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, work instructions, and procedure manuals; calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; apply concepts of basic algebra; write routine reports and correspondences; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization; and complete tasks and assignments in a timely manner.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Assess and analyzes production operations to identify and develop new and improved chemical manufacturing processes including the production of Metal Composite Sheet.
  • Design, configure, and work with those engaged in constructing, controlling, and improving our chemical processing and manufacturing equipment.
  • Analyze operating procedures, equipment, and machine functions to reduce processing time and cost.
  • Employs effective problem-solving and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Works to optimize process requirements, cost, man-machine-process interface, and Employee Health & Safety factors using sound analysis and judgment.
  • Performs tests and takes measurements throughout stages of production to determine degree of control over variables such as temperature, thickness, pressure, tensions etc.
  • Analyze, develop, and recommend process changes necessary to meet production requirements.
  • Develop detailed engineering plans to meet company objective for the introduction of new products.
  • Introduce designs, drawings, and specifications to Engineering and Manufacturing management.
  • Reviews routers, Bill of Material, work orders and other documentation to validate functionality and identify streamlining opportunities.
  • Participate and give input on the purchasing of new equipment to ensure equipment meets all safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Obtain competitive quotes for upgrades and present to management for approval.
  • Supervise construction and installation of new equipment, Prepare SOP accordingly.
  • Perform job duties and obtain training in accordance with our Quality Management System.
  • Audit operations for compliance as scheduled and assume responsibility for safety/environmental issues and ongoing performance of processes.
  • Visits customers for specific and strategic product development project applications.
  • Supports optimization of meeting customer product performance and quality requirements.
  • Always exhibits exemplary conduct in dealing with other Mitsubishi employees including any outside contacts.
  • Contributes to the establishment and attainment of a positive, safe, and team-oriented environment.
  • Follows safety rules and regulations to ensure a safe working environment; utilizing continuous SOPs, safe work permits, and other risk management strategies.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience


  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering is required


  • Five to Seven years of related experience and/or training in the composites industry


  • Some. Travel to customer, vendors  and/or sister companies.

  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment to include safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and additional PPE as required
  • Correctable eyesight required
  • Must be comfortable working around moving equipment
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, forward reaching
  • Occasional squatting, crouching, and above shoulder reaching
  • Ability to stand for extended period
  • Dexterity manipulation required for use of hand tools and light equipment
  • Must be able to push/pull material using pallet jack
  • Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs., occasional lifting up of 50 lbs.
  • Moderate exposure to temperature change in non-climate-controlled environment with potential of working near heated processes
