Gelest organization, is a manufacturer and
marketer of specialty monomers and polymers for use in the manufacture of
contact lenses, intraocular lenses, personal care products, coatings and
adhesives, and other advanced technology applications is seeking an
experienced Quality Control Chemist. The Chemist is responsible for
analyzing, storing, and disposing of analytical samples as well as the proper
documenting and filing of raw data.
Key Projects
Analyze specialty monomers, polymers and other specialty chemicals
Run advanced analyses using HPLC, GC, GPC, Karl Fischer, Spectrometers, and wet chemistry under minimal direct supervision
Adhere to all procedures for daily operations of the Analytical Laboratory
Train new personnel in the proper execution of test methods
Communicate with the Analytical Services Manager and other members of the management team to ensure information is shared in a timely manner
Calibrate and maintain analytical instrumentation
Develop new analytical methods and work with R&D and customers for method development and transfer
Perform root cause analyses for non-conformance events related to the laboratory
Act as a technical expert on matters involving the analytical laboratory
Log-in samples, schedule work, and communicate priorities both up and down the
chain of command
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Required
1-3 years experience in a QC Environment
