Job Purpose

The Senior Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring the Quality Department provides the resources and services necessary to support, advance, and achieve the business objectives of Mytex Polymers. A primary objective of the quality department is to meet or exceed the expectations of Mytex customers with respect to product quality and the services we provide.

  • Ensure inspection, product quality of all incoming materials from supply chain and internally produced product to meet quality standards, systems and customer requirements.
  • Lead Mytex role of Quality Management Systems and continuous improvement programs.
  • Ensure product representation (safety/environmental compliance)
  • Ensure operating directives to product design/requirements.
Principal Accountabilities
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Contribute to new business initiatives, projects and review/communicate the impact on quality activities.
  • Manage and ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and audits.
  • Manage and maintain all product regulatory requirement registrations and reporting.
  • Lead and manage customer complaint investigations, root cause analysis, surveys and corrective action processes.
  • Lead and manage material supplier non conforming material investigations, in conjunction with Purchasing dept., including supplier audits.
  • Analyze and interpret product test results and trends, comparing to established specifications and make recommendations on process control, product/evaluation/testing improvements or dispositions.
  • Prepare, review, modify, and approve documents related primarily to product quality & safety, regulatory compliance, and production.
  • Perform tasks to advance projects toward completing objectives and perform necessary follow-up on tasks in progress.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and report on quality concerns.
  • Provide monthly reporting of progress on quality department objectives.
  • Responsible for key area within the Gate System.
  • Participate in periodic Management Reviews.
  • Lead or participate in audits for accreditation, customers and suppliers.
  • As needed, support the Technical Department and other internal customers.
  • Establish and document processing methodology for new and existing products.
  • Lead and manage Quality Department to include development, performance monitoring and reporting of department goals/objectives/metrics, providing training opportunities to team, ensuring consistent communication with expectations and completing year –end reviews on direct reports.
  • Maintain a helpful and friendly working relationship with fellow employees.
  • Comply with all applicable customer, safety, ISO/IATF 16949 QMS, and ISO14001 EMS requirements.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Experience: 7-10 years’ experience in plastics manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of plastics compounding and product formulating.
  • Understanding of SAP or other inventory management system.
  • Strong Organizational, Verbal and Written skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to self-manage deadlines.
