Job Purpose
Principal Accountabilities

Job responsibilities:

  • Site Safety Program Owner leads development of Safety Culture to reduce injuries.
  • Performs daily walkthroughs of manufacturing areas, engages employees, and responds to safety-related requests from Site Management.
  • Assures proper and timely documentation, investigation, root cause analysis, and effective corrective actions of all safety incidents including management reviews. IMS System Owner.
  • Maintains assigned ESH&S Procedures and work with Site Management to assure training and compliance.
  • Site Safety Leadership Team Leader.
  • Responsible for development and implementation of Site Safety Objectives.
  • Prepare/communicates safety communication/reports/metrics for site and region as required.
  • Develop, track, and analyze incident safety metrics and develop action plan based on analysis.
  • Periodically evaluates practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and regulatory adherence, including participation in risk assessments and recommends solutions to safety issues.
  • Responsible for site safety and accident prevention training.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
  • Passionate about Safety and Injury prevention.
  • Conflict management, problem-solving, and decision making skills.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills.
  • Ability to positively discuss/address safety concerns with employees in all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Easily relates with employees on operating floor as well as upper management.
  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills.
  • Comfortable presenting Safety related information to large groups.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks especially when responding to an accident or incident.
  • Risk assessment/management and hazard identification.
  • Good computer skills - Microsoft Office and experienced with Safety databases.


Job requirements:

  • Educational experience: B.S. in Engineering or similar technical degree.
  • Experience level: 10+ years leading safety programs at a manufacturing facility.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred.
  • Advanced OSHA Training. Environmental regulatory experience a plus.
  • Available to respond to incidents on nights and weekends.
