Job Purpose

The Warehouse Shipping Coordinator ensures effective logistics of bulk & packaged goods at the site which includes timely and accurate tracking and reporting of incoming and outgoing materials, inspection, tracking and movement of materials stored, inspection and operation of logistics equipment, and oversight of 3rd party trucking contractors according to prescribed methods and criteria.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Review raw material and finished goods inventory.
  • Coordinate shipment of finished goods:
    • arrange shipment with carrier
    • prepare bill of lading;
    • daily data entry of railcar information
    • verify Certificate of Analysis for raw materials
    • inspect and weigh railcars and hopper trucks
    • complete Raw Material Railcar/Hopper Truck Inspection Sheet
    • conduct inspections of equipment
    • identify non-conforming material including the attachment of cable seals to belly tubes of railcar compartments
  • Gather samples of material from railcars and hopper trucks and when required, submit samples to lab for testing.
  • Notify the carrier or railroad for bulk shipments and obtain railcar routing instructions.
  • Prepare railcars and hopper trucks for shipment, reconcile inventory.
  • Assist in blending and packouts.
  • Ensure compliance to the Company’s environmental standards with regard to the handling,  storage and disposal of universal and special waste.
  •  Perform tasks using material handling equipment which include but are not limited to: a mobile railcar mover, aerial boom lift, forklift, pallet jack or similar device to transport material and other items.
  •  Periodically assemble, fill and/or disassemble packages.
  •  As needed facilitate movement of material from Plant to Warehouse using single cab truck.
  •  Perform housekeeping and other general tasks include but are not limited to organization and cleanup of work areas.
  •  Maintain a helpful and friendly working relationship with fellow employees.
  • Comply with all applicable customer, safety, ISO/IATF 16949 QMS, and ISO14001 EMS    
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Experience
  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Experience: 1-3 years’ equivalent experience warehousing and/or shipping
  • CDL License is preferred
  • Certified Forklift Operator is a plus
  • Experience working in a railyard is a plus
  • Strong Organizational, Verbal and Written skills
